**Key characteristics:** * PRLHR is a single-pass transmembrane protein that is expressed in the plasma membrane of cells. * It is a member of the GPCR superfamily, which is a group of G proteins that are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including growth, differentiation, and metabolism. * PRLHR is a ligand-gated ion channel, which means that it opens when a ligand binds to it. * When PRLHR is activated, it binds to the G protein GPCR alpha-subunit, which triggers a cascade of events that ultimately lead to the activation of the MAPK signaling pathway. **Pathways and functions:** * PRLHR is involved in the regulation of feeding behavior. When PRLHR is activated, it promotes the release of prolactin from pituitary gland cells. Prolactin is a hormone that stimulates milk production in women who are breastfeeding. * PRLHR is also involved in the regulation of female pregnancy.
